Two Term Season

Our season is divided into two separate terms to fit every schedule and budget. Families can register for term one, term two, or both!

  • REGISTRATION FOR VIP RETURNING FAMILIES:  Begins May 14

  • REGISTRATION FOR NEW FAMILIES: Begins May 21

  • TERM 1: September 9 - December 20

  • TERM 2: January 6 - May 9

RECREATIONAL (REC) CLASSES

Your child will dance in an encouraging atmosphere. Throughout both terms, they will develop musicality, memorization, teamwork, flexibility, coordination, skill and technique.

During term 2, dancers memorize, perfect, and perform a routine showcased in our May recital at the Orillia Opera House. Fees include costuming, professional photos, and tuition, with no surprise costs. You'll receive a digital copy of the recital as our free gift!

TECHNIQUE (TECH) CLASSES

Your dancer will reap the benefits of a REC class, without additional fees that come with recital routines. As TECH classes do not perform in our recital, classes are discounted with no ticket, costume, or photo costs.

TECH classes allow the possibility of participating in examinations, where dancers are assessed in a formal setting by a qualified examiner. Exams are regulated by prestigious organizations, offer progressive set curriculums, and are recognized by studios and professional programs worldwide.

STYLES

ACRO

Acro is perfect if your dancer loves to flip and flop on soft surfaces, and enjoys achieving new personal bests in flexibility and skill! Your dancer will learn exciting skills such as cartwheel variations, headstands and handstands, and tumbling and balancing skills, as well as basic dance foundations. Think gymnastics meets dance! We use Acrobatique and Acrobatic Arts syllabus for our Acro programming

BALLET

Ballet imparts grace, confidence, and poise to your dancer. Ballet is a wonderful choice if your dancer enjoys following instructions, and also loves moments to let creativity shine! Your dancer will learn ballet fundamentals that will instil healthy physical habits such as alignment and coordination, and important skills that will last a lifetime including expression, musicality and social skills. We use ADAPT Vaganova syllabi and RAD syllabi for our Ballet programming.

HIP HOP

Hip Hop is a great physical and emotional outlet for your child! Hip Hop is perfect if your dancer enjoys the latest beats, moving big, and has a little attitude to spare! Our Hip Hop classes will help your dancer develop their self-confidence, expression, muscular strength, and coordination! We ensure appropriate music and choreography in all hip hop classes.

JAZZ

Jazz class expels energy and challenges your dancer’s physicality! Jazz is perfect if your bubbly dancer loves upbeat music, and enjoys jumping, turning, and dancing across the room! Your dancer will learn to hold their body tall and strong in jazz class, develop flexibility, and learn other important skills that will last a lifetime including cooperation, team work, the importance of work ethic, and goal-setting! We use the ADAPT syllabus for our Jazz programming.

CONTEMPORARY/LYRICAL

Contemporary & Lyrical, while very different, allow your dancer to connect with the music and move with emotion! These styles are perfect for heartfelt, melodramatic dancers who love to dance from the soul! Your dancer will learn skills such as kicks, turns, jumps, and floor work, while honing their dance technique! Contemporary & Lyrical are bound to instil team work, emotional intelligence, and empathy in your child.

MUSICAL THEATRE

Musical Theatre is the ultimate confidence booster for your child! It’s the perfect choice if your dancer enjoys singing, acting, and dancing! Your dancer will explore musicality, character development, and dance skills. Through this class, your dancer will gain valuable skills such as acceptance, memorization, concentration, & confidence.

POINTE

Pointe is ballet work done en pointe, or on fully stretched feet with specialty shoes. Dancers’ feet must be fully developed before being fitted for pointe shoes, and must also demonstrate strong alignment, strength, turn out. Dancers may spend several years in soft shoes before progressing to pointe shoes. Dancers must be enrolled in two ballet classes weekly when taking pointe. If interested in pointe, contact us about “Your First Pair of Pointe Shoes” package prepared by Miss Regan.

TAP

Tap dance can help develop and improve your child’s body and mind! Tap is perfect if your dancer likes to make noise, is developing their concentration skills, and enjoys making their own music! Your dancer will learn to tap their feet to the beat of the music while improving their balance, coordination, and even their brain! Because Tap is full of rhythms, patterns, and counting, it supports mathematical skill development! The ADAPT syllabus is used for Tap programming.

THEATRE JAZZ

For our most senior recreational dancers, this class combines the theatrics of Musical Theatre with the technical finesse of Jazz. Dancers will develop flexibility, strength, coordination, and skills including turns, jumps and travelling work. They will also explore stage presence, emotion, and character work as they relate to Musical Theatre.
